The course emphasizes on strengthening the basic understanding of various restorative materials and techniques used in dentistry and how to determine which restorative material is appropriate during different treatment scenario. Direct composite inlay are made directly in the mouth (no laboratories time), thereby reducing chair side time. Indirect inlay is fabricated by taking an elastomeric impression of the prepared tooth, followed by fabrication of a Die. In this technique the proximal contours can be achieved more precisely as wax pattern is fabricated on the cast and minor adjustments can be easily performed.
When laser light is used for the amplification of the bleaching effect, typically laser-absorption-enhancing particles are added to the gel. The particles are capable of absorbing the light energy from the wavelength of light emitted from the laser and of re-transmitting the light energy as thermal energy
Laser bleaching is performed using a hand piece or a fibre in noncontact mode, unfocused, and with continuous emission. Regarding the power or energy, high power lasers are generally used, except when bleaching is performed with the argon laser (488 or 514.5 nm) or with a 660, 675, or 740 nm diode laser.
